How It Works
1. self schedule
Head over to the contact page.
If you are ready to schedule an intake, you can self schedule your first 55 min. intake session. If you are interested in an intensive - this will go toward your “intake & preparation session”.
If you have any questions or would like to speak by phone first, complete the contact form and I will reach out within 24 business hours.
2. complete the on-boarding documents
Once your intake has been scheduled (by you or me) you will receive an email link to the online HIPPA Compliant EHR System - Sessions Health - to complete the on-boarding documents prior to our first session. These documents must be completed in order to have our sessions. If you have any questions about these, please reach out.
3. first session
You will receive a reminder and any details needed for your first session via email and/or text.
During the first session we will review practice policies, get to know you, collaboratively decide the frequency of sessions moving forward, and answer any questions you have.
See you soon!

Ok, but why?
Diagnosis Reasons
Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis the first time I meet you to authorize and continue treatment. I think it’s unfair to diagnosis someone when I don’t know the full story yet. While diagnoses can be useful, they don’t always tell the full story. I see you .. your experiences, nervous system, trauma history, strengths, and context.. not just a label. They also state it has to be a medical necessity so if your diagnosis is not an approved one by insurance, they will not allow me to see you at all. Insurance dictating what is “bad enough” or not does not align with my values.Greater privacy and confidentiality
When insurance is used, your diagnosis, treatment plans, and session dates become part of your medical record and are accessible to third parties. This can also influence your access to life insurance policies. Private pay allows for more discretion and control over your personal mental health information.More flexibility in session length and frequency
Insurance typically limits sessions to 45–60 minutes and often dictates how often therapy can occur. Private pay allows us to choose what actually supports you : whether that’s 55-minute sessions, 85-minute sessions, EMDR intensives, weekly support, or spacing sessions out when needed.Treatment decisions are between you and me; not an insurance company
Insurance companies can influence what type of therapy is “allowed,” how long and often we work together, and when treatment should end. Private pay keeps your care guided by your true needs and goals, not external policies. -
While I do not bill insurance directly, I can provide a superbill upon request. A superbill is a detailed receipt that you may submit to your insurance company if you have out-of-network mental health benefits.
Superbills are available for standard therapy sessions and the EMDR intensive intake session only. Superbills are not provided for EMDR intensive therapy days, as insurance companies typically do not reimburse for extended sessions of this length.
Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends entirely on your individual insurance plan. Insurance companies determine the amount reimbursed and typically reimburse less than the session fee or deny the claim.
Clients are responsible for verifying their benefits, determining whether I am considered in-network or out-of-network with their plan, submitting the superbill, and communicating directly with their insurance company regarding claims. I do not communicate with insurance companies or dispute reimbursement decisions.
Payment is due at the time of service. Because insurance reimbursement is not guaranteed, I do not suggest clients rely on reimbursement when paying for sessions.
Please note:
A mental health diagnosis is required for insurance reimbursement and will appear on the superbill.

This depends greatly on your individual need, goals, and frequency of sessions.
Some clients notice meaningful relief in a few sessions, while others choose to stay in therapy longer. With emdr intensive therapy, clients feel relief after one or two sessions.
We can discuss further what that looks like for you.

I specialize in working with women who are chronic over-thinkers, struggle with boundaries, and put others feelings before their own. Many of the women I work with come to me with this lingering feeling they need to constantly “prove” or “earn” approval/love from others or specific people. My approach integrates EMDR, somatic work, parts work, compassion-focused therapy, and attachment-informed care.
